Cast, Relax, and Reconnect

Tucked away in a quiet corner of the farm, our private lake offers a peaceful space to cast a line and unwind. Whether you’re brand new to fishing or just looking for stillness in nature, this is a slow, mindful way to reconnect with the outdoors.

We practice catch-and-release fishing to protect the lake’s natural balance — and welcome all visitors to enjoy the calm, the birdsong, and the quiet joy of landing a fish in clean, chemical-free waters.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need any fishing experience?

Not at all. This is a calm and casual setting, perfect for beginners. If you’ve never held a rod before, we’re happy to give you a quick introduction when you arrive.

What kind of fish are in the lake?

Our lake is home to a small population of freshwater species, including trout and perch. We focus on catch and release to ensure a sustainable and balanced environment.

Do I need to bring my own gear?

You’re welcome to bring your own rod and tackle. We also have a limited number of rods available for use — just let us know in advance if you’d like to reserve one.

Can children take part?

Yes, children are welcome under adult supervision. It’s a great way to introduce kids to the outdoors in a calm, natural setting.

Is there someone there to help?

This is a self-led experience, but Brendan or a team member will greet you, walk you to the lake, and offer basic guidance if needed. If you’re booking for a group or event, guided support can be arranged.

Is it accessible?

The lake is a short walk from the main farmyard over uneven ground, so unfortunately it is not fully wheelchair accessible at this time.

Can I keep what I catch?

No — all fishing at Fiorbhia Farm is strictly catch and release. This helps protect the health of the lake and its ecosystem for future visitors.

What Our
Customers Say

The quality of the produce is very good. Especially since purchasing my eggs and chicken from the farm I realized the average to poor quality of produce I would have gotten before, though also free range. On time delivery and updates as to when exactly he would deliver. Very happy I found them. They were recommended to me by a nutritionist

I ordered the Wagyu steaks as I'd a friend coming to stay and wanted a special treat, and boy they did not disappoint! Even raw, you could feel how tender the meat is, and such a deep colour! I cook to a medium rare, it was so juicy and a flavour unlike any I've had before, just divine!

The quality of the pasture raised eggs, that Fior Bhia farm provide is incredible. High in vital nutrients and the taste is so rich. Chickens obviously has been raised on their natural intended diet , this is evident in super rich yolk color.

Got to check out the farmers market and the launch of the Fire pit last week. Satisfying for the mind body & spirit. As soon as you come down the lane you're on forest time.
Heartening to see food sustainably produced in Ireland, free from gluten, artificial fertilisers, sprays and preservatives. Packed full of flavour and satisfaction, plus it's the ultimate traceability when you're buying direct from the farmer!
